Glowing Bugs: an illustrated atlas of insects
101 creatures, 303 plates, 224 pages. Released 10 February 2027

One hundred and one insects, spiders and other small creatures, each drawn as living glass, lit from within, in neon colour against pure black. A book made to be opened anywhere and not put down: to read aloud to a child, or to keep on the table as an object.
On every pair of pages
- A full plate, and two further views of the animal
- Its common name, its epithet, and its scientific name with the people who described it
- Three short facts, written to be read aloud, each traced to a source
- Field notes: range, lifespan, size, weight, colour, diet and family
- Five signs: danger, active, social life, glow and special move
- The animal at its true size, with a loupe for the small ones
- A map of where it lives
Who it is for
For children who love animals, for the adults who read with them, and for anyone who collects beautiful books. The texts are short and clear; the pictures reward a long look.
Checked against the science
All 303 plates were compared with the anatomy of the real animals, and every fact is traced to its source, printed at the back. The plates are artistic interpretations and do not show the true colours of the living animal; the book says so on every plate.
The companion volume
Most Dangerous Bugs presents twenty-four creatures that bite, sting and carry disease, from the mosquito to the giant hornet, each at its true size, in 64 pages.
